How to use the FlightScope i4 Rangefinder
The FlightScope i4 is more than just a rangefinder – it’s an advanced AI caddie. By leveraging aerodynamic data from each club’s launch conditions, the i4 uses complex optimization algorithms to suggest the best club for every shot based on your personal club gapping. It also factors in real-time local weather conditions, such as wind speed, direction, and target height, ensuring each recommendation is tailored to the golfer’s current environment. This makes the i4 an invaluable tool for refining your game.
Follow this guide to set up and make use of your FlightScope i4 Rangefinder:
Getting Started
You will be able to use your i4 Rangefinder straight out of the box for direct distances and slope measurement. However, to access all of its features, you will need a mobile device with cellular data and the FS Golf App installed.

Download the FS Golf App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Open the FS Golf App, click Create Account, and follow the on-screen instructions.
Connecting and Registering Your FlightScope i4

Open the FS Golf App and select ‘Rangefinder’ from the home screen.

Tap the ' + ' icon to connect your i4 Rangefinder. On your i4, press and hold down the power button, click the 'M' button and release them simultaneously. Once you have connected to your i4, select Next Step.

Select your Home Location, which is where you are the most familiar with your carry distances. This will be used as a baseline when you play in other locations.

Choose your gapping method, which will be used to give you personalized club recommendations. You have three options for this:

Smart Gapping

Select or begin a Gapping Session within the FS Golf App

Import a CSV file from the FS Golf PC Software or a past session from another launch monitor

Or select Skip For Now if you prefer to set this up later.

Register your FlightScope i4 by following the instructions in the app.
How to Use Your FlightScope i4
Setting Up FS Mode

Connect to your FlightScope i4 in the Rangefinder section of the FS Golf App.

Check if FS mode is active by looking through the viewfinder.

If FS mode is not active, repeat the pairing process.
FS Mode Requirements:

Your mobile device must be nearby.

The FS Golf App must be running.

Bluetooth must be activated on your i4 Rangefinder.
Important Notes:

When powered on, the i4 will automatically return to the last-used mode and settings.

FS mode always includes slope mode as a built-in feature.

To switch to non-slope mode, turn off Bluetooth.

The indicator light on the top of the i4 Rangefinder will illuminate red in both slope and FS modes.
Wind Function and Adjustments
To activate the wind function, switch to FS Mode and take a measurement to your target. Once you receive the distance, briefly press the M button. The wind icon will appear with a default wind direction.
To adjust the wind direction, continue short pressing the M button. This will rotate the direction clockwise or until the wind icon turns off. Keep pressing until the desired wind direction is selected.
