ORLANDO, Fla. - December 5, 2018 – Dartfish today announces a product enhancement to its award-winning baseball and softball coaching toolsets. The new enhancement provides joint customers of Dartfish and Flightscope, a world leader in the development and manufacturing of 3D Doppler tracking radar for sports, an improved method to create player improvement practice plans and game plan against opponent players.
The toolset accomplishes this by collecting pitchers’ and hitters’ measurement data from the Flightscope Strike, a 3D phased-array tracking radar system, representing this information in Dartfish’s visual analytic reports and visual teaching video system. FlightScope created Strike to help softball and baseball players practice with a purpose.
“We’re excited to be partnering with Dartfish to help improve players’ games,” said Henri Johnson, CEO of FlightScope. “Dartfish’s analytical technology combined with our tracking technology gives baseball and softball players a one-stop shop to improve their performance.”
FlightScope’s Strike radar tracks pitching data such as pitch speed, spin rate and spin axis, as well as hitting data such as exit speed, carry speed and flight time.
“This is a huge value for our joint customers,” said Chuck Wilmot, director of baseball and softball product sales at Dartfish. “This product automates the collection of key performance data of players, reducing large amounts of information into easy to interpret visual data reports that are linked to the players video increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of coaches."
