Despite some high winds, driving rain, and variable temperatures, FlightScope consistently showed drive trajectories for the spectators gathered on the first tee at the BMW PGA Championship 2014. With improved viewing from a new stand onto a relocated big screen, FlightScope supplemented the tournament information with driving data, including carry distance, ball speed, club speed, launch angle and spin.

FlightScope also supplied its latest FlightScope Xi+ sensors to track and display the drives of the amateurs during the Pro-am curtain raiser event. This world first use of technology at a Pro-am event was very well received by both pro’s and amateurs alike, as drives found the many wood and sand obstacles all displayed on the big screen. In particular, one of Alvaro Quiros’ team drove straight into the woods, to the huge enjoyment of his playing partners watching the trajectory on the big screen.
