Sean Casey is the Director of Instruction at the Academy at Glen Abbey Golf Club, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Course and a revolving venue for the Canadian Open. In the fall of 2009, Sean won the prestigious Ontario Teacher of the Year presented by FlightScope award, which among other things awarded him the use of a FlightScope Prime unit for one year.

Fast forward to the end of 2010, and we asked Sean to assess what FlightScope has done for Glen Abbey and its teaching and fitting programs.

"FlightScope has been a fantastic addition to our academy. Not only does it provide a value-added service for our members on the range, but it has increased our Club-Fitting purchase rate tremendously. The information that FlightScope provides gives quantifiable information not only to us but to the consumer, which in turn gives them confidence in knowing we fit them for the right product. An added bonus is what a benefit it has been for our lesson programs. FlightScope not only gives us extensive ball data, but also great information on club head delivery positions which helps us get to the root of swing issues and illustrate that to our students more efficiently. We also run an extensive junior program here at the Academy, and using FlightScope has enabled me to get my students to understand the correct positions with a much faster learning curve. It has been invaluable in all aspects of our business and I hope to continue to reap its benefits for a long time to come!"

Sean was distinguished as the Ontario and Canadian PGA “Teacher of the Year” in 2009. He oversees the successful ELITE Jr. development program and is also the head coach for the Canadian Junior Golf Association national teams. Sean has been the featured instructor for the SCORE Golf Magazine, TV show and web site numerous times.
