FlightScope X3 Review – Jordan Fuller

24 May 2019
As analytics have taken over team sports, it is only natural that individual sports such as golf follow the same path. Golfers have begun to lean heavily on numbers like swing speed and launch angle to help them fine-tune their swing.

The FlightScope X3 is one of the most advanced systems for golfers to measure everything about their game. From drives to putts, the X3 captures it all.

The X3 works with a patented technology called Fusion Tracking. The device utilizes 3D tracking radar and image processing to provide accurate performance data and create a full picture of what you are doing with each swing you take.

Another great feature of the X3 is that it is wireless, portable and very lightweight. The FlightScope device has a built-in 5GHz Wi-Fi hotspot, so it works great with your tablet for instantaneous feedback.

The X3 software comes with over 50 data parameters for full swing, chipping, pitching and putting. This means that wherever you are in your practice, the X3 can track and break down what you are doing well and where you need improvement.

As you hit the golf ball, the X3 will send a direct readout to the tablet or laptop, giving you numbers like your swing speed, the angle of your club path and the face-to-path degree to let you know if the club face is open or closed at impact. Perfect for measuring your irons, too.

Another excellent feature of the X3 software is how adaptable it is to your future rounds. Say the weather forecast is showing heavy wind for your next round or at your next tournament location - you can then use the Environmental Optimizer (FS|EO) to see how the wind speed and direction will affect your flight path and overall shot. The Environmental Optimizer also allows you to adjust altitude, temperature, humidity and relative landing height. This feature is hugely beneficial to tournament players of all ages who want to get an advantage on their competitors.

The latest MultiCam App allows for capturing multiple video feeds for a full analysis and break down of each swing. This feature can be great for working in unison with a coach who can show the golfer how to improve their game.

Finally, the Skills Combine setting on the X3 enables you to set up games for dialing in perfect yardage with your shots. If you want to hit balls exactly 120 yards, just dial it up on the software and each shot will be analyzed for extremely accurate measurements to the intended yardage.

Great for instructors, club fitters, college golfers, or the professional golfer looking to make a massive leap in their game, the X3 delivers accurate, consistent performance data that allows you to sculpt your game for dramatic improvement.
