Weathering European Long Drive Final Storm

FlightScope braved appalling weather conditions to demonstrate its outstanding precision and accuracy at the European finals of the 2008 RE/MAX Long Drive Championships of Europe, staged at Whittlebury Park, Northamptonshire 12/13th September. Further to the tremendous success of the previous year’s event held in Amsterdam, the organizers were quick to secure FlightScope technology once again for the 2008 finals. A specialist team from EDH Sport located a state-of-the art tracking system consisting of 3 Cheetah radar sensors on the tournament tee recording hundreds of competitive drives, including that of 2008 European Champion Mikael LIndblom, who drove his golf ball an amazing 304 metres. The winning statistics recorded by FlightScope were made available to spectators/ viewers in real time through integration with Eurosport television broadcast.
