ORLANDO, FL – June 25, 2012 – After 19 top-ten finishes, Danny Willett finally claimed his 1st European Tour title with a nail-biting play-off victory over Marcus Fraser in the BMW International Open, becoming the 6th English winner in competition history. His victory beats his previous best European Tour performance – 2nd at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship 2010 and his previous performance in 2012 – tied 3rd at the Malaysian Open in Maybank.

Danny Willet is a member of the FlightScope family and has been endorsing and using the 3D ball and club tracking radar as an integral part of his training and equipment selection regime. Danny is mentored by Graham Walker, a leading coach and ranked in Golf Monthly’s Top 25. Graham places the short game at the heart of his coaching methods. FlightScope has been particularly useful to provide objective measurement data when evaluating short game distance control.

At his 4th appearance in the BMW International Open, Danny’s win saw him become the 9th first-time winner of the 2012 European Tour International Schedule and the 297th English victor in European Tour history. At 24 years of age, he becomes the 2nd youngest winner of the BMW International Open – Martin Kaymer is the youngest at 23. His win not only gains him his first victory as a pro, but also gains him a 2 year European Tour exemption until the end of 2014 and places in the 2012 WGC – Bridgestone Invitational, 2012 WGC – HSBC Championship and the 2013 Volvo Golf Championship.
