World Golf Skills® Challenge powered by FlightScope®

The World Golf Skills^® Challenge powered by FlightScope^® was held on August 18-19, 2014 in Las Vegas, NV, with Eric Matthewson of Dubuque, Iowa besting a field of hundreds of participants to take home the new FlightScope Xi.

The qualifying rounds for the World Golf Skills^® Challenge powered by FlightScope^® started on August 18th at Cascata Golf Course during the PGA Demo Experience. Over 200 participants competed at Cascata Golf Course to try and qualify for the finals, with the Golf Channel’s own Bailey Mosier even getting in on the action. The qualifying then continued in the afternoon on August 19th at the TaylorMade Golf Experience, with golfers traveling from as far as Australia to compete. As the lights began to fall, the field of 450 was then narrowed down to the top three competitors, who competed in the finals under the bright lights of Las Vegas Strip.

The final three competitors included Dustin Ragan, a casino host out of Las Vegas, NV; Eric Briggs, a PGA Professional out of Nipton, CA; and Erik Matthewson, a bag room attendant from Dubuque, Iowa. After an exciting display of golf skills, Erik Matthewson narrowly bested Eric Briggs to take home the FlightScope Xi. Finishing in second, Eric Briggs took home a brand new Bushnell Patriot Pack Rangefinder and third place finisher, Dustin Ragan, took home a new pair of Bollè sunglasses.

With the completion of the World Golf Skills^® Challenge powered by FlightScope^®, the countdown now begins for the 2015 World Golf Skills^® Championship on August 15, 2015 in Las Vegas, NV.
