i4 Rangefinder

What is included with my rangefinder purchase?

What’s in the Box: i4 Rangefinder unit, USB-C charging cable, premium pouch, quickstart guide & microfiber cloth.

What makes the i4 different from other rangefinders?

Unlike traditional rangefinders, the i4 Rangefinder factors in real-time weather, slope, and environmental conditions. This eliminates the guesswork, giving you precise data and confidence before every shot.

Do I need a FlightScope launch monitor to use it?

No. While the i4 pairs beautifully with FlightScope launch monitors, you don’t need one to take advantage of its power. Thanks to the i4 Smart Gapping feature, you can quickly create a personalized club gapping report—no launch monitor required. Just enter a few details, and the i4 calculates everything: your carry distances, ball speed, spin rates, and more.

How accurate is it, really?

The patented FlightScope Environmental Optimizer Technology pulls real-time weather data like local air pressure, temperature, and density altitude, ensuring that its effective distance calculations are always accurate and relevant to the current playing conditions. Plus, the built-in slope functionality factors in the terrain to give you the most accurate yardages possible.

What’s the difference between slope and non-slope rangefinders?

Slope rangefinders factor elevation changes into distance calculations, offering more accurate yardages on hilly courses. Non-slope rangefinders measure straight-line distances and are allowed in nearly all competitive play.

Is it easy to use for beginners?

Yes, FlightScope rangefinders are designed to be intuitive and user-friendly, suitable for golfers of all skill levels, including beginners.

Do rangefinders speed up pace of play?

Absolutely. Rangefinders quickly provide exact distances, helping you make faster decisions, reducing time spent guessing yardages, and significantly improving pace of play.

Can I use a FlightScope rangefinder in all weather conditions?

FlightScope rangefinders are IPX4 rated and designed for reliable performance in a variety of weather conditions, including rain or fog, allowing consistent measurements throughout your round. As with all electronics, avoid exposure to water if possible.

Why should I invest in a rangefinder?

The i4 gives you a clear edge by combining precise environmental adjustments with personalized club recommendations. By accurately measuring distances to flags and hazards, it takes the guesswork out of club selection, improves your accuracy, and speeds up play.

Does the i4 Rangefinder have a Slope mode?

Yes. The i4 includes a Slope toggle that allows you to turn slope-adjusted distances on and off.

How long does the i4 battery last, and is it rechargeable?

Yes, the i4 features a built-in, rechargeable 3.7V 730mAh polymer lithium battery, meaning you never have to worry about buying replacements. This high-capacity design delivers an incredibly long-lasting battery life of up to 500 hours of run time on a single charge. When it is time to charge, the device features fast USB-C charging. It takes an estimated 2 hours to reach a full charge using the included 40-inch USB-C to USB-A cable and a standard 5V 1A power adapter.

Is the i4 Rangefinder waterproof or weather-resistant?

Yes, the i4 is built with an IPX4 weather-resistant rating. It is designed to withstand a light rain so you can confidently hunt pins even when the weather takes a turn for the worse.

What is the maximum range of the i4 Rangefinder?

The i4 can accurately range targets up to 1,000 yards with +/- 1-yard accuracy, and it can lock onto a golf flag from over 300 yards away with ease.

Will I need to charge my i4 Rangefinder out of the box?

Yes, you will. While your new i4 Rangefinder comes packed with cutting-edge tech, it does not come packed with a full charge. To prevent any battery degradation while sitting in its box waiting for you, we ship it with just a baseline storage charge. Before you head out to hit the range or course, give it a full plug-in session. Once the indicator light turns green, you'll be fully powered up and good to go.

Is Pro Package required to access Face Impact Location?

No, Pro Package is not required in order for the Face Impact Location add-on to work with your Mevo Gen2 or Mevo+.

What does Face Impact Location do?

Face Impact Location is an add-on feature that shows the precise spot where the ball makes contact with the club face for every shot. It enhances your analysis by matching the visual impact location with your shot data and introducing three key features:

Lateral Impact: Measures how far toward the heel or toe the ball struck.Vertical Impact: Measures how high or low the ball struck relative to the sweet spot.

Heat Mapping: Visualizes your overall consistency and strike patterns over a session.

What is the heat mapping feature for Face Impact Location?

The Heat Mapping feature aggregates all shots from your session into a single visual overlay on the clubface. Instead of analyzing individual shots, it uses color-coded clusters to show your overall shot distribution, helping you instantly identify your most consistent impact points and recurring miss-patterns for any specific club.

Is FlightScope hardware safe to use?

Although Mevo, Mevo+, Mevo Gen2, X3, X3C radiate a minuscule amount of radio frequency energy in the microwave band, the levels are far below the limits imposed by governmental agencies for safe human exposure.

Mevo, Mevo+, Mevo Gen2, X3, X3C contain rechargeable Lithium Ion batteries. These batteries have been safety certified by their manufacturers and contain built in electronic protection circuitry. It remains your responsibility however to observe the following regarding batteries:

  1. Do not expose the product or a battery to direct sources of heat such as flames
  2. Do not allow a battery to be mechanically punctured
  3. Stop using the product or battery if you notice a strange odor, change in color, too much heat, change in shape, leaking, odd noises.
  4. Do not charge the product when covered by anything that can catch fire (bedding, towels, newspapers, etc.).
  5. Do not put the product or a battery by itself in the trash. Recycle at a battery recycling location or contact your community for disposal instructions.

What is the purpose of the aluminum stickers for golf balls?

Aluminum stickers are needed in an indoor environment in order for the X3C, Mevo+, Mevo Gen2, and Mevo to accurately measure ball spin.

Can metallic sharpies be used instead of stickers?

Not currently, but we are working on additional solutions that will make this possible in the near future.

Do X3C, Mevo Gen2, Mevo and Mevo+ work when hitting into a net?

Yes, as long as the minimum space requirements are met.

Do X3C, Mevo Gen2, Mevo and Mevo+ work in low light conditions?

Yes. Radar technology does not require direct sunlight for accurate measurement and is completely unaffected by low light conditions.

However, in order for Advanced Fusion Tracking to work properly we require a 300 LUX in an area within a 3 foot radius from the hitting location.

However, performance can be affected by fluorescent lighting.

Are there any conditions that may affect performance of my FlightScope launch monitor?

Yes. Performance can be affected by fluorescent lighting, heavy machinery, excess metal, and/or any rotating objects (fans, air conditioning units, etc.) in the surrounding area.
